Our kelp, also known as kombu, is a type of brown algae from the ocean waters surrounding Norway. Kelp algae contain valuable nutrients and are particularly rich in natural iodine. The nutrient-rich multi-cellular algae primarily grow in cool waters near the shore and prefer calm, shallower water since they require light for photosynthesis. Kelp algae also grow better on a rocky bottom since they can get a good grip.
To produce our powder, the algae are harvested by hand, dried at low temperatures and ground gently into a powder. This results in a raw and vegan product with absolutely no additives.
Our kelp powder can be used as a spice to enhance salad dressings and soups. Sea greens like kelp also make an excellent addition to green smoothies.
