Nutritional experts consider barley grass to be one of the most nutrient-rich foods available. Like many other varieties of grain, barley (Hordeum vulgare) is a member of the grass family and is found in many climate zones around the world.
Existence of this plant which originated in the Near East can be traced as far back as 15000 BC. The straight, smooth barley stacks grow to between 0.7 and 1.2 metres tall. The small, green leaves are harvested before the barley blooms since the nutrient concentrations are particularly high at this time.
Our carefully selected and dried organic barley grass powder is free from artificial flavours, colours or fillers, and is also naturally gluten-free. After being dried, the barley grass is gently pulverised to produce a 100% raw food product suitable for vegans.
Barley grass powder can be used in salads, green smoothies or simply mixed in a glass of water. However, barley grass powder does lose its valuable active substances if it is boiled.
