The acai palm, whose fruit – the acai berry – has long been an important component of the local rural population’s diet, is found predominantly in the lower Amazon basin. In recent years, the popular acai juice has also become a regular item on the menu in bars and gyms throughout Brazil.
The berries of the acai palm (or multi-stemmed cabbage palm) are purple and black and about a centimetre long. This tree prefers a moist environment, which is why it always grows near a river.
Extracted from the pulp and the skin of acai berries, our freeze dried organic acai powder with its chocolatey taste is a great addition to smoothies, cereals or yogurt. It is also free of any additives such as silica, which is commonly used in acai capsules. The opaque packaging helps protect the valuable ingredients from UV light and thereby preserve them.
